WoW Camelot, Classic Plus and the Return of the Leveling Journey

World of Warcraft Camelot is currently one of the most closely watched mystery projects surrounding the future of Classic World of Warcraft. Interest increased after an internal development branch identified as version 1.60 became associated with the codename Camelot. Because of its connection to the broader Classic development environment, players quickly began discussing whether Camelot could represent the long-awaited next step commonly described by the community as WoW Classic Plus.

Classic Plus is not currently an official product name. It is a community term for an idea: keep the slower progression, social world, recognizable classes and meaningful character development of Vanilla WoW, but continue adding new experiences instead of simply moving through the same historical expansion sequence again.

If Camelot develops in that direction, leveling could once again become one of the most important parts of the game. In traditional Vanilla World of Warcraft, reaching maximum level was not a short introduction to endgame. The road from Level 1 to Level 60 was a major adventure in its own right. Characters traveled across multiple zones, learned new abilities, replaced equipment gradually, completed class-related objectives, entered increasingly difficult dungeons and slowly developed into endgame-ready characters.

That slower progression gives individual levels more meaning. Level 20 feels different from Level 40. A character approaching Level 50 has access to a completely different set of zones, abilities and challenges than a newly created adventurer. Instead of rushing players through an almost disposable leveling campaign, Classic-style progression allows the world itself to remain relevant for much longer.

This is also why LootWoW is currently preparing Camelot Powerleveling around a provisional Level 1-60 structure. Level 60 matches the familiar Vanilla Classic progression model and therefore provides the most practical framework for early service planning. It should not, however, be interpreted as a Blizzard-confirmed Camelot maximum level.

Blizzard has not yet announced Camelot's final public name, exact leveling curve, maximum level, class progression, zone structure or experience requirements. Camelot could keep a traditional Level 60 structure, introduce phased level caps, change experience pacing or use a progression system that has not yet been revealed.

For that reason, LootWoW will treat Level 60 as a working model rather than a guaranteed feature. Once official information becomes available, available leveling ranges, completion estimates and service options can be adjusted around the actual game.

The basic purpose of the service will remain the same regardless of the final cap: players who enjoy the entire journey can level normally, while players who have limited gaming time, are preparing additional characters or simply do not want to repeat every leveling zone can choose assistance for the part of the journey they prefer to skip.

How Long Will WoW Camelot 1-60 Leveling Take?

We do not want to publish a fake Level 1-60 completion time before Camelot's real experience curve exists. The time required will depend on Blizzard's final leveling rules, class design, available zones, experience requirements, server conditions and the progression methods supported by the game.

A Level 50-60 order will naturally be very different from full Level 1-60 progression. Character class and starting condition may also affect the amount of work required.
